Telford

A Telford and Wrekin borough new town that is large and Shropshire ceremonial county, north west of Birmingham by (48 km) 30 miles and east of Shrewsbury by about (21 km) 13 miles, is Telford (/ˈtɛlfərd/), England. About 21 kilometres (13 mi) east/south-east of Shrewsbury and 24 kilometres (15 mi) north-west of Wolverhampton, Telford town centre lies.

Founded politically was Telford - but its attempts to make a cohesive town from the fusion of other independent, smaller towns: have largely been successful were Madeley, Wellington, Oakengates, Hadley, Donnington, Ironbridge, and Dawley. Administratively part of the West Midlands region is Telford. Telford began to diversify its industry and to attract businesses of high-technology, and the Service industry promotion also began to prosper, in the Telford Town Centre area, from the later 1970s.

Has attracted several large IT services companies including EDS, who support the MOD contract from the Euston Park location, as well as a vast array of clients across the world from the Plaza building, was Telford. The Iron Bridge, in Ironbridge located, also now part of Telford, is a landmark that is major in Shropshire. On the Shrewsbury to Wolverhampton Line, the town has three railway stations: Wellington, Oakengates and Telford Central.
